At first glance, Danae and I appear to be two friends excited for Christmas. Here we are admiring the trees at Detroit’s Eastern Market.
That, however, was the one shot someone else took. Upon review of my shots, I realized that I strayed from capturing the mainstream, and instead, was drawn to the eccentric.

Oh, the beauty of Eastern Market
A short drive away, you’ll find The Heidelberg Project. At first a protest for the dilapidation of a neighborhood, it’s now home to thousands of visitors a year.
It struck me silent.
Over the last 25 years, there has been both world-praise and dissention over the Heidelberg Project (read about it here). Of course, everything has layers of meaning. The layer of dots consuming the street struck me the most. They are representative of jellybeans- all similar and different at the same time. You need to go experience this for yourself- this abstract representation of diverse and vibrant colors all melding together in a meaningful, somehow beautiful way.
